Yes. I bought that exact book for you and Jane at Harrod’s in London, England and used to read it to you with a lump in my throat every time. Of course the Lord Jesus takes in all who turn to Him, including the “halt and the lame.” But this is a poet’s treatment of an old story about rats and broken promises and judgment and sadness.
Anonymoussaid:
Did you read the story I put the link to Mom? The illustrations in the book are marvelous…I remember it quite well.
Methinks your link is wrong? All I got was a story about a town in Spain that won a huge lottery…or maybe I don’t know the story of the Pied Piper well enough!
Anonymoussaid:
He was the only one in town that didn’t get a share of the “pie.”
Me again, why isn’t it recognizing me…slapping forehead.
Ah, okay…I definitely don’t know the story well enough, then. The guy in the story seemed pretty philosophical about it all, though…more than I would have been, LOL!
