So I am joining antique mommy on her carnival ride, http://antiquemommy.com/2008/11/24/homemade-handmade-holiday-carnival/#comment-44317 for homemade Christmas crafts…I will have to add phase 2 when we make the external covers…I also have two other crafts I am making and will unveil them as we get to them…WWWHHHEEEEEE!!!!!!

I found these cute rice bags over at http://sewmamasew.com/blog2/?p=221, which came from Aimees site http://livinglearningandlovingsimply.blogspot.com/

I was inspired to make these great little gifties…just the larger, smaller and eye packs from the wellness bag…my friends decided they would like to be roped into the project as well…so we descended upon Oma en masse….she is wonderful.

christmas-crafts-0601She even whipped out some ribbon bows for me for another Christmas gift project I am working on…I owe her!

My friend, Julie, made a big pot of chili and the rest of us got to cutting…

We whooped out around 36 of the large rice bags and 25 of the smaller…phase two, making pretty covers will resume another day….instead of velcro we are opting to use ribbon as a simple tie closure…too cute!

We did add different essential oils to the hot rice bags…mmmmm.

Stay tuned….and I double dog dare ya to try this with your friends!!!!  SMILE!

Incredible job!!! You made a ton of them! I am only almost done with ten! (But I did help a friend make 8 of them last weekend!) I used peppermint essential oil in mine and loved it. And I didn’t use velcro either…I just made it like a pillow sham in the back which made it easy.

I made some cute wellness bags this week to put the rice therapy bags, flax seed eye pillows, tea bags, and dark chocolate in:

    WAY TO GO!!!
